Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Nevada

Dismissal without prejudice

I owed a cc card company money back in 2000, who then sent it to a collection agency, etc. I just received a notice of dismissal without prejudice and order. Why didn't they dismiss with prejudice since it is over the stature of limitations? Should i worry about this? I was in nevada when i incurred the debt and now live in calif.

Re: Dismissal without prejudice

Worrying is useless energy. Legally, you probably will be in good shape. The plaintiff probably realized it didn't have enough evidence to prove that it could defeat the statute of limitation. It seems like good news.

By the way, in the remote chance that it should again file a lawsuit, have an attorney help you out -- especially if the statute of limitation is an issue.
