Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Nevada

How do I recover a loan that exceeds small claims limit of $5000?

Loans were made totaling $23,000. Promisorry notes were signed by the debtor to make payments by a certain deadline. The debts have not been paid, as a matter of fact no monies have been paid, how do I go about collecting the monies owed from a higher court? What can I do to collect the outstanding debt?

Thank you,--name removed--Steirer

In general, you would need a judgment issued by the court in order to collect the monies owed. Without knowing the steps you may have taken thus far- demand letter of debtor, language in promissory note that would specify the steps to take in the case of non-payment- it seems that you may need to consider legal action in order to recover the funds owed.

Please feel free to contact me with further details so that I can more accurately assess the specifics of your matter and help you to avoid spending unnecessary fees in order to recover your debt.
