Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Nevada

Verbal Contract

My girlfriend had made a payment arrangement with her car company to make a payment on the 30th of last month. To her surprise and mine they had the car repossessed on the 28th. Can they do that even if there is a verbal agreement over the phone. Is there a way to get her car back? She will lose her job if she does not have a car. Help!
