Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Nevada

I wrot e a credit card check to a bondsman for 2,500.00 three years ago, in agreement that the person being bailed would pay the bondsman in payments, and the check would not be cashed. The person has only made 500.00 in payments, and now the bondsman is threatining to cash my check. What legal stnd do I have to keep this form happening? Also, the check states that it is valid through 3/31/09, dose this matter?
