minor been question by school officer withour parent

My son is been accused of touching a girl improperly, my son was question by school police and principal, a report was taken, I was never contacted to be informed that my son was been questioned. according to officer and principal my son admitted to allegations, my son tells me different. my son was scared, was threatend to be taken to juvy. he as afraid what right does my son have in been question without me or an atty. Also, per the principal the girl is not pressing charges but has a year to do so...I dont feel my son statment to me is documented he says he didnt do it. in the report it says he admitted to it. Please help

The school and police can question your son outside your presence and without your permission. However, you son is entitled to Miranda rights if he is in custody. I would just tell your son that in the future he should insist that you or an attorney be present for any questioning. You could also have your son take a polygraph on the issue privately. If he passes it then you will have evidence that he did not do the alleged groping.
