Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Case Conference Report not filed. Help Please

Hello: My attorney in Las Vegas is not

making any effort to resolve my divorce.

There are no children and no property

issues.

He promised he would file a report with

the Discovery Commissioner after a

Mandatory Case Conference was held

on Nov 30 but has not done so. Is there

a time limit on this? It almost seems as

if my attorney is dragging the process

unnecessarily.

Re: Case Conference Report not filed. Help Please

He has 180 days from the date that the Case Conference was held to file the report. Was the other side represented by an attorney? A lot of times where the other side is not represented, the party is afraid to sign any document.

I have always filed the report within 30 days of the conference because you will not get a trial date until it is filed. If your attorney is dragging the process, this means you are not a high priority. This is either because the attorney is too busy or you owe him money. In either case, you should get the ball rolling by paying him or her and fire him or her.
