Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

I have a payroll deduction taken out for child support since 1997. I just received a letter from the DA saying I owe 56,000.00 for back payments since 2001. I have all my pay stubs to show it has been paid. What steps should I take to resolve this?

Try the low-cost approach first. Get those payroll records, and make an appointment with your assigned case manager, to see if they can clear the matter as an internal administrative matter. If not, attempt to get a hearing before a child support master to challenge the imposition of arrears, supplying the relevant evidence. if you are not making headway yourself, you may have to hire counsel to deal with it -- but do not simply ignore a $50k liability; if you do, it will only get worse.
