Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Terminating parental rights

If parental rights are terminated and back child support is owed is the parent terminating their rights still entitled to the back child support that is in arrears?

Re: Terminating parental rights

Thank you for your inquiry.

If you are successful in terminating an individual's parental rights you are precluded for seeking child support from the day that you terminate the rights. However, if you have child support arrears you need to reduce them to a single judgment that is enforcable against the individual. Then you would be able to terminate their rights post judgment.

My office is very successful in pursuing these type matters. Feel free to contact me at the number below to further discuss your matter.
