Legal Question in Employment Law in Nevada

I was a live in private duty caregiver and worked 4 24-hr shifts in a row and I was on call during all that time. I believe I am entitled to overtime and am wondering (since statute runs 2/2014) if I go to the Labor Dept first and then file or file first THank you so much at [email protected]

Not quite sure about your question (dept of labor first or file first). The dept. of labor rarely gets involved with any case that is filed with the Court by a private attorney. Pretty much one or the other (you get a lawyer and sue in court, or maybe go to small claims court on your own, or you go to the dept. of labor).

Anyway, I am a lawyer who handles these sort of issues, see my website overtimelaw.com Whether I can help you out depends on the detailed facts of your situation which I would be happy to discuss with you if you want, feel free to call me. Leon Greenberg 702-383-6085

I recommend visiting the Office of the Labor Commissioner (not the Dep't of Labor) located at 555 East Washington Ave., Ste. 4100. The folks there will be able to point you in the right direction, and they may even handle your case at no charge to you.
