Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Nevada

Apartment Lease

My apartment was burgled twice within 4 months, first time one week after move-in, last October, the second time March 5th of this year. I decided not to take another chance and moved. I informed the leasing office of my intention to move before the beginning of next month. The problem is that my lease does not expire until April 15. To comply with the agreement, I would have to pay an additional 15 days rent.

I don't feel this is fair. My apartment had a wooden door frame, which made it east to kick-in. I filed police reports for loss, and provided copies to the leasing office so that they might get insurance compensation for damage to their property. Nothing was offered to me in compenstaion.

I said to the leasing agent it was ridicululous because of the loss I incurred by no fault of mine. I was threated with ''collection agency'' if I failed to pay.

I am interested in what a judge would say.

Re: Apartment Lease

Unless you had renter's insurance you are SOL without proof of the LL's NEGLIGENCE or complicity.
