dog bite - small claims

my dog was attacked by another dog unprovoked. Besides medical expenses, can I sue for negligence and punitive damages? and if so, how do I determine the amount?

You can only sue for out of pocket medical and other economic damages in small claims court. No punitive damages or pain and suffering.
