Legal Question in Personal Injury in Nevada

Identity Theft Charges

My friend of 15 years said I could use his SS# to get a phone(Verizon) in his name because my credit was bad but now he is saying I never had his permission? The bill is 650.00 so I won't be able to pay it right away can he put me in jail for this? How can I prove he said I could use his SS#
