Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Nevada

Credit Check

I suspect my daughter-in-law (seperated from my son) is trying to secure a mortage loan using my name instead of her husbands. He is a Junior.

My son recently received a quitclaim deed to sign from a title company that has my name without the Jr on it. Is it possible she has been okayed for a loan using my name and credit line. I don't think she has my SSN.

Re: Credit Check

It is possible for a lender to get a credit report, even without a SS #. If you suspect your name and/or SS# has been used or is to be used for purposes you have not approved, notify the credit reporting agencies (Trans Union, Experian, and Equifax). Also, if you have a document from a title company, contact that title agency and notify them of your concerns. It would be best if you had records of your contact - such as a faxed letter confirming any telephone conversations.

You may also contact law enforcement and advise them of your concern that your "identity" is being used by another.
