Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Nevada

My partner of five years and I have a house with two mortgages that both of our names are on. I have planned to marry her and have never been pressured to do so but was going to after the holidays, as the recent economy slowed my plans, but I have managed to save a little money over the past year. I'm not sure if that part is relevant, but I added it in anyway. We are upside down on our house, but are comfortably making payments, and I keep telling her that eventually things will work out. We had bought the house for the long term anyway. I have recently learned she has been talking to her ex husband who is a attorney about short selling the home and purchasing a condo. My question is can the house be short sold without consent from both people on the mortgage? (and) Can one person get off the mortgages without the other person agreeing or knowing?
