Property Auction legal ''Sale Date'' -

Is the legal date of a sale of a piece of property bought at a sheriff's auction the same as the date of the auction OR is it the date the sales was recorded at the county? In the case in question, it was recorded one week later.

The sale date on the day of auction is the relevant date.
