Re: Rental Contract Breach

Your question does not contain sufficient information to make a complete reply. I don't know if you are a co-tenant on a lease agreement, or a sub-tenant under someone else's contract. If you signed a lease, along with roommates, who also signed, you are (likely) equally obligated to perform according to the terms of the lease, including paying rent for the specified period, and providing proper notice of termination of the lease. Check the wording of the contract to see what is necessary for you to terminate the lease (e.g., 30-day notice, obligation of payment for full term, etc.).

As for harm to you and your unborn child, I don't know what the reference is to, but if some hazardous activity is endangering you, it MAY be grounds for finding your roommate in breach of the contract, and allowing you to get out of it. Again, you will need to refer back to the lease agreement, itself, to see if there is a basis here for getting released from your responsibilities under the lease.

If you are in northern Nevada, I may be able to help you figure out the details. Call me for a free initial consultation at: 775-358-1958.
