Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New Hampshire

Affects on a co-owned home with no mortgage

My husband and my brother are both on the deed to our duplex and land. Both families live in it. There is no mortgage on it. What happens if one of them file for bankruptcy? How will this effect our home and land?

Re: Affects on a co-owned home with no mortgage

The answer is it depends upon whether their share of the property is exempt from attachment by creditors or will become bankruptcy property. As of 1.1.02, there is a $50,000 per person exemption for real estate in New Hampshire.
