Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Hampshire

I accidentally left my Credit Card at a Dunkin Donuts, an employee then went out and purchased gas with my credit card in another town, Is Dunkin Donuts liable for damages? Its all on video.

First, you must notify your bank ASAP of the stolen card. Even if you got it back, they have your numbers and failure to notify the bank will expand your liability.

The person who stole your credit card, and perhaps the place where the stolen card was used, could be liable for damages- Dunkin Donuts has not done anything wrong in your scenario. UNLESS they hired a known criminal and failed to supervise him properly. THEN, Dunkin Donuts COULD be liable for negligent hiring and/or negligent supervision.

In any event, assuming you notified your bank of the theft, Federal law limits your liability for stolen credit card purchases to $50 and debit card purchases to $500.
