Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New Hampshire

have i been discriminated?

i feel as though i have been discriminated and i need to know legally if i have. i have been employed with the same co. for almost 6 years. it is an industrial supply co. i started my career here entry level in the warehouse and have worked my way up to the credit department. i went out for a job at a different location that is an entry level job because it would be a shorter commute. i was told in the interview they were hesitating hiring me because they didnt think i was physically capable. nowhere in the job discrip. does it say any physical requirement. then they joked that i ''may break a nail''. i was being interviewed by two men. it was as if they were making fun of me. then, even with all of my experience, the job was given to a man with no experience and i was told ''i didnt fit the mold''. do i have a case?

Re: have i been discriminated?

You may. The only way to tell is to take a complaint to the EEOC and have them investigate. You need documentation and you need a timeline to describe to them the hiring process. One joke about breaking a nail does not make it discriminaton, though. There has to be something more.
