Re: Paying for college

The Court has the authority to order you to contribute to the college expenses for your children, even though your divorce decree is silent on this issue. The issue at court will be to what extent you must contribute. The court will look at the financial circumstances of both parties. If you and your ex wife are remarried, the finances of your current spouse could be a factor and could be considered when determining the exact amount you must pay for college.
