Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Hampshire

How do I get my stuff back

Hi, I recently dated someone for 2 months, within this 2 months the man proposed marriage to me, wanted me to move in with him in NH (I live in MASS) and on March 18th, he asked when I thought was a good proposal date, I changed the year from 2010 to 2011. Then I found out that the man, with proof has life long dreams of being a woman. I have proof. Well, I hada bought a king size comforter, and left a bunch of stuff over this mans house. So, on the 18th, after the re-asking me what would be a good suggested proposal date, he broke it off with me. Now please note that on the 16th of March this man took a TV out of my house with permission to use for his bedroom. Well the evening of the 18th as he was breaking up with me, and I was more interested in watching the Boston Bruins Hockey game, he asked if he could bring my stuff back, I said, yes if I knew you were going to dump me 2 days ago, I wouldnt have let you take the TV ! That is stupid. So he brings the TV and some of my items, I missing an $80 new king size comforter, pair of approx $80 jeans, shoes, my nike sneakers with ipod tracking chip.expensive cosmetics. I asked him for the rest of my stuff and he stated ''I kinda sort of threw that stuff away''. What do I do?

You should tally up the value and see if New Hampshire has a small claims session. As a practical matter, though, you may want to consider it far less expensive than having discovered this all later, and then needing a divorce lawyer.
