Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Hampshire

Violation?
I own a small store selling adult items. My wife sold a stun gun to a minor, but I have now been served with a notice of a violation and am due in court this Thursday (5/9/02) at 8:30am. I was served yesterday at 5:30pm (8/30/02).
The transaction took place in the parking lot - not in the store - and I had no idea it had taken place.
I am trying to get a lawyer, but they haven't given me much time to prepare a case.
What should I do?
