Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Hampshire

Co-signing a Lease Agreement

John co-signs a ''lease'' for Jane because of Jane's current financial status. Does John now have the same rights to this property as Jane? Does this mean John can use the property in the same way Jane can even though John will not be living there?

Re: Co-signing a Lease Agreement

Difficult to answer on facts presented. The law of Guaranty is somewhat complex. Did John sign only as a guarantor or did John sign as a co-occupant/tenant? I'd need to examine the document and the circumstances surrounding the transaction.

This is a general answer only. As facts change and new or different information arises, the response is likely to change.
