Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Hampshire

I was

in an accident on Jan 31st. I live in NH and have no insurance. I was pulling out of a parking spot at almost full dark and a car without lights on came quickly behind me. I bumped her door and immediatly stopped. She did not want to call the police and so there is no accident report. We discussed it and it was agreed that it would cost 2 to 3 hundred dollars to repair. I agreed to this and gave her my information. Now she is continually coming to my hame and threatning me with calling police and her ins. to take my license if I do not pay the estimate she has for 1147.87. Her car is a 1999 chev malibu with a book price of around 3500.00 What is the best way for me to handle this?

Bear with me here, because I know that you do not want to hear me say that not reporting an accident to the police is never a good idea. But OK then, as you know, you have done nothing legally wrong by not having insurance in NH because insurance is not legally mandated in NH. Tell her that you want the right to have her car sent to a shop that you select to get a second opinion. If she does not agree, then tell her you refuse to pay anuything and that she will need to take you to small claims court. And, stand by your word. If she refuses to leave you alone tell her you will report HER to the police for harassment. If she has collision coverage her own insurance should cover this. Do not let this person harass you if she will not leave you alone, hire an attorney to deal with her.
