Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Hampshire

Dog bite case

I was bit on the arm by a dog, and just found the owner of the dog. What kind of payout am I allowed by law if I sue the owner. I've had to pay out over a $100 in medical bills so far, I'm sure that can be reimbursed, but can I also get pain and suffering from the owner from all that I have had to go through, not only at the doctors with shots but also from having to look for this dog for the past 3 months. Also whats the best way to go about getting any kind of money, should I take it to small claims court or hire an attorney and let them take it to a higher court. Thanks.

Re: Dog bite case

You are certainly entitled to all your damages from this dog bite--both out-of-pocket costs and also general suffering and inconvenience. Your best bet is probably to get in touch with an experinced personal injury lawyer. While you might be able to press a claim yourself (NOT in small claims court; the case is almost surely bigger than that), allowing an experienced professional handle it is probably safer and more lucrative.
