Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Hampshire

My mother passed away a few years ago, and my sister was named power of attorney. Unfortunately, there was been a break down of communication between us. The estate was held up for a bit after the sale of my mothers house, and now I am afraid my sister isn't being totally honest with me about where the money stands. Do I have the right to contact the lawyers office? And what info will they be able to give me?

Your sister would not have been named Power of Attorney; she might have been executrix if your mother had a will or adminstrator if no will. If you were an heir you have a right to the probate information and should have received some kind of documentation from your sister. You should first go to the Probate Court and review the file to see what has been done. If there is a lawyer handling the estate, and you are an heir, you have every right to call and ask questions.
