Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

If you return a leased car in early and you asked the lease copmany if you would owe the remainder of the lease payments and you were told no but after you turned the car in they send a bill for all payments even after there sold the car do i have to pay for it?The car was returned because of a salary cut i could not make the payments.

You should go thru your lease paperwork and see if you have a signed "lease waiver" form. If you didn't sign one and you signed the lease within 24 hours of seeing the lease doc, then you may have a defense.
