Legal Question in Disability Law in New Jersey

disability

last summer me and my girlfriend (who is a parapalegic) went to home depot with our puppy we we training to be a service dog. upon entering the store an employee confronted us about bringing the dog in. Santina explained to her that he was a service dog in training, the employee then states '' your not blind or deaf'' and the insults came at a steady pace to keep it short. eventually the manager was called over and we were let in but not after being verbally abused and embarrased by this woman. Thia is the very short version of this story. your jaw would drop if you heard Santina tell it. My question for you is do you think there is some kind of case here? Home depot should not get away with this kind of behavior

Re: disability

A one time event by an ignorant employee is not a sound basis for a lawsuit. Your facts stated that the store manager resolved the situation in your favor. Perhaps a letter to the corporate office requesting further ADA training and customer service training for the obviously ignorant employee is the best course of action.
