Re: iliteracy and disabilty

Age (over age 45), gender, sexual orientation, national origin, race, disability (physical or mental) are the bases for making a claim in the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination. I do not believe that illiteracy falls into any of these categories, but I am not 100% positive about this. Please call me if you have any other questions.

Re: iliteracy and disabilty

Illiteracy may be a disability if it can be linked to a condition that effects a major life activity (e.g. physical impairment). In other words, illiteracy in and of itself is not considered a disability if it can be resolved through regular education and sometimes intensive education.

No, you can learn to read. Thus, it is not a disability.

Some disabilities are being blind, deaf,or unable to walk.
