Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New Jersey

Chapter 13

I am at wit-ends with harassing creditors. Further at this point and time I am 2 payments each behind on my mortgage and car with a end in sight, but not quick enough for these creditors. Foreclosure proceedings and repossession is imminent. Do I qualify for bankruptcy protection and is it the right decision. I currently have a 413 credit rating so no lender will give me a chance. Please provide advice. Thank you

Chapter 13

It sounds as if bankruptcy protection may be your best alternative. Seek out a lawyer close to you who handles bankrupcy matters. Some will probably join me in responding to your question. Don't be concerned about not having enough cash to immediately pay a fee. Most bankruptcy lawyers will give you a short consultation at no fee. Ask to be sure. After that, it is usually possible to show you how to find the cash by adjusting your current payments in a way that is perfectly legal and ethical and which will not hurt your financial position.
