Our company wanted to print a new product that included movie quotes, song lyrics & famous quotes in general. Is permission needed and is there a risk if there is and we don't obtain it?

Movie quotes and song lyrics are customarily copyrighted and may not be published without permission of the owner except for the limited circumstances characterized as "fair use". Famous quotes may also be protected depending on whether they are take wholesale from a copyrighted work. Copyright infringement can carry some serious civil penalties. Consult an IP attorney with specifics of your proposal.
