False Death Cert From FDNY-9/11
My Dad and I applied for my brother's death Cert a FF who
was killed on 9/11 The Fdny was processing the death cert.
Another Death cert application was filed 2 months later by his ex-fiance(employee of fdny)with false information in re to mother and father names. Based on her app, her death cert
was issued over ours...noone can explain what happened to our application and it is not easy to have this info changed. My question is do we have any recourse at this point. The death cert with the wrong info was devastating to my parents and myself but not being able to get any answers is worse. The ex did this malisciousley to hurt my parents. I know that this is a while ago, but grieving and dealing with these issues are not easy.

Try sending them a copy of his birth certificate which would have the correct information. If you don't get anywhere write to the Mayor directly.
