Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

Hi, I'm a mid-sized mechanical contractor in the tri-state area. There's a bidding oportunity to provide several pieces of mechanical equipment along with a service agreement to maintain that equipment. The job spec's call for specific brands of equipment. The only way to purchase the specified equipment is through local manufacturer's sales offices. These sales offices will be bidding the same job and services. The lowest bidder will be rewarded the contract. Clearly, we will be at a great disadvantage going up against these sales offices, from whom we must purchase the equipment from. Do we have any leagal rights to even the playing field against the manufactuer's local sales office?

You have discovered the trick in bids! The government agency or company designs the bid so really only one bidder has the advantage. You are the "out" party and you would be best to forget it. I have litigated these matters against school boards and municipalities. Please, don't waste your time!

I hope this helps!
