Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Jersey

Child's search and Seizure rights

Our 13 year old son was at a school dance on Dec.3, 2004 and he was taken into a seperate gym by the female vice principal and another person who was unknown and he was patted down and his private areas were grabbed. We found out that the unknown was another woman, but we don't know who.He was told to be quiet, not to turn around and wasn't told what they were looking for until after they found nothing. The school never contacted us to explain what happened, nor did they give him the right to call us. Am i grasping here, or were his rights violated and is it safe to say that he was sexually assaulted??????

Re: Child's search and Seizure rights

I cannot say for sure that a "sexual" assault occurred, under the facts you describe.

However, it does sound like your son's rights may have been violated and therefore he may have one or more legal causes of action.
