Legal Question in Construction Law in New Jersey
Construction Contract
My contractor is 120 days overdue. Do I have the right to deduct a fee per day? How would I determine what an appropiate fee would be?

A lot depends on the details. If a contractor is unreasonably late with construction, you may be able to throw him off the job and get someone else to finish. That has to be done carefully though because you don't want a judge to think that you are the party breaching the agreement. Best to speak with your lawyer.
