Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey

Dental disadvantage

I went to a dentist to get some work done in which he charged me $245 for the consulation and x-rays. After this, he advised me that the procedure I needed would cost $7000. I attempted to negotiate a price and he subsequently just dropped me without any explanation. He withheld my initial pymt of $245 and also stated that just to get a copy of my x-rays I would be charged another $30. Is there anything I can do about this?

Re: Dental disadvantage

He doe not have to negotiate his prices. You probably pissed him off, and if you are a problem before he does your work, you are more likely to be a problem after he does your work, so he will refuse you as a patient, which is his right. WHY would you get back the $245? Dentists are required to keep their records and x-rays by law, so if you want copies, they charge $25-50 each.
