Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey

Glass In Food

While staying and dinning at a local country club I had and ate glass in my salad. Without causing disruption to others I quietly made report w/manegment and security, gave them chewed glass, was offered new salad, declined. A few days later I was contacted by their claims dept. I was told I would be called back w/outcome, 3weeks no return call.

I called the corp office, spoke to pres. of comp. assistant.

within hour received call from supervisor. Told me he would speek to all and call back. again no call.(6 weeks)Leave message for him, no call. Recontact pres. assistant, again call within an hour. He tells me he thought this was resolved, they took my safty concerns into concideration. Not even a generic sorry,ok, thank you letter. I explain I find their way unexceptable and now insulting at the least. Had I been of a different economical or social status would this have been the chosen why of dealing with this?

Now this has become a point, more than just glass. he asked me what will make me happy, he offered me sunday brunch. Is it only me that can not fathom this mentality? Do I have a next move? Should I bother? Thank You for your time.

Re: Glass In Food

Obviously what happeneded is a little distressing and the way that it was handled lacked sensitivity in some respects. However, the fact that someone is negligent does nto create a claim, there must be damage as well.

Since it appears that you dodged the proverbial bullet, their willingenss to "buy you lunch" may be the value of the claim. You are in the best position to determine whether that is fair. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
