Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey

I purchased a car from a private owner for $1,200 one month ago, good car for a first time car owner, safe and should last hopefully a year he says. the car gets a flat and when i take it in to get fixed the car place stamps it dangerous to drive, the front control arm can come off any time.Is there anything i can do to get some of my money back. I bought the car under the conditions that it was drivable

You can bring a claim in small claims court if the owner will not voluntarily return the funds.
