Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

collection law

There is a woman from a collection agency that has called my mother-in-law's phone and our phone cursing, not telling us what company she's from or who the client company is.She wants to get my husband's bank account number. She also threatens to call the count sheriff's department and have us all bodily thrown out of the house(it's my mother-in-law's house and has nothing to do with the ''debt'').

Is this legal? What can we do to stop her? The numbers that show up on our caller ID is always a number that we're likely to answer.
