Finding public court records

I have these people that purchased a 1988 camping trailer from me,and two weeks later they came back complaining about 1 thing not working now they have a judgement against me,for $2600.00 camper was 4,000 I would like to know if there is a place i can look up any background info on them, because i feel that these type of people do this for a living.Everything i look for on the web for ''free public court records'' etc etc It seems like there is a charge to use it,and i dont know if its a scam? Is there a free web site for new jersey records?

Re: Finding public court records

If the buyers have "a judgment against you", and you think the judgment is erroneous, you need to hire an attorney immediately to review the court documents to determine whether it is possible to appeal or otherwise modify the judgment.

Otherwise, a judgment against you means that you owe the buyers the money.

You do not say whether or not you went to court. Were you served with a summons to appear in court? If so, did you actually go to court and argue your side in front of the judge? These are all questions that need to be reviewed with your attorney.

Hi Alan:

Any free service I have used is dubious at best. I do not practice in NJ, so I have no idea what is there.

Lexis used to have a pay service where you could buy short increments of time for research, you may wish to try that.

Good Luck.
