Re: harrassing me for my fathers debt

Get names, company name, an address and a number. IN WRITING, tell them that you have spoken with X on numerous occasions, explained you are not responsible for your father's debts or obligations and that you have repeatedly demanded that they stop calling you, all to no avail. Threaten notification of all appropriate government agencies, and litigstion if they do not cease and desist. Then if they still call, you call the NJ Atty General's Office, the Better Business Bureau, and file suit in small claims for damages and an injunction to stop calling you.

People should act responsibly, and be responsible for their actions, but MANY collectors are just plain assholes. Learn to deal with them, not letting them get what they want, which is either money, or pissing people off if they can't get the money. Lots-o-negative karma with collections.
