Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

I live in NJ and having my wages garnished at 10%, I have just received another court letter stating that another creditor has filed to also garnish my wages and I have ten days to respond to the court in this matter. Can 2 creditors garnish at once? Is it to late to work out payment arrangements with 2nd creditor? I am a single mom supporting my son I am afraid due to monthly expenses just to survive.I have no funds for a lawyer that is just impossible.I realize I have an obligation to pay my debts and allowed wage garnishment the first time without a fight, being that I won't see the money and they will eventually be paid in full which I am pleased, but another garnishment will do me in. Thnkyou so much for any help you can give me Regards Cathy

You are only liable to pay for ten percent of your wages at a time and your employer is only obligated to process one garnishment at a time. However, you should ask the court to include the delay in any garnishment order. /p/ See also: http://info.corbettlaw.net/lawguru.htm
