Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

i was charged with trespassing at a local bar but i dont feel as though i was trespassing because i was asked to leave and did so.then we greeted outside by police who let me go for about 1 minute then arrested me about 40 feet away from the bar as i was walking to get a cab
