Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Is petty disorderly persons offense (NJ 2C:33-2B) a crime or a misdemeanor in NJ? I don't know how to answer on a job application when am asked if I have been convicted or pled guilty to a crime or an offense.

Please note that misdemeanors are crimes. Your reference to "a crime or a misdemeanor" suggests that you don't understand this basic fact. If your job application really asks whether you have been convicted of or pled guilty to "a crime or an offense", then your prior conviction seems to require you to say yes. There may be reasons in New Jersey why you might be able to say no; alternatively, you may be able to expunge the conviction so that you will be allowed to say no in the future even if you must say yes for now. Perhaps another New Jersey lawyer will respond with information about whether and how you can do this.
