when must a police officer present a warrant, before entering the home of a pers

Last night four officers came to my mother's house to arrest my brother. My mom asked them if they had a warrant before they can enter her home; the officers replied by saying yes we have a body warrant. My mother then asked if she can see the warrant, but they refused to show it and just barged in. I would like to know if they are allowed to do such act and if not what can we do to ensure that sumthing like this doesn't happen again? I have a degree in law& justice, and i was almost certain that officers could not enter a person's home without first presenting a warrant. To my knowledge the only time they don't need a warrant is if there are extenuating circumstances which was clearly not seen in this case.

If the police have an arrest warrant, they do not have to show it to anyone. If they have a SEARCH warrant to search your property for anything, then yes for that they do need to show it to the person whose premises they are searching. If they searched your mom's home and found stuff they want to use in evidence against your brother, there may be a basis for filing a motion to suppress the evidence.
