Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

THEFT OF MOVABLE PROPERTY (N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3a) I'm pretty sure is my charge of the 4th degree. Listen I FOUND this object. I didn't steal anything. Can I get an affordable lawyer to help me?

The State need not prove that the property was carried out of the place in which it was kept, but only that it was moved or taken from its original location or that defendant exercised unlawful control over it, whether or not he/she was able to actually move or remove the property. So, just finding it and exercising control over it can be problematic. You should lawyer up ASAP. Feel free to contact our firm www.64njlaw.com or (732) 64-NJLAW.
