Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

When I went to this web site it said do you need a attorney free of charge I am not working but I would like my question answer, Which is, I have an old charge that happen in 1995, or 1996 not to sure I would like to know if I could get assistant from legal aid with the issue please.

Depending on the charges you could qualify for a public defender. If it is a charge of "consequence" and your income matches the limits of the law you get a public defender. If it is just a traffic ticket with no potential for license suspension or jail you have to represent yourself
