Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey

DWI - Car in my name....Can I get sued?

The registration an title are 100% in my name but my boyfriend and I are both on the insurance (80% him, 20% me).

If he gets into a serious accident and hurts or kills someone while driving drunk, will the insurance still cover? And if not, can they come after me as well or only him if he is the only one in the car?

If you give permission for your boyfriend to borrow your car and he gets into an accident (either under the influence of alcohol or otherwise) your insurance will provide coverage to you (under normal circumstances). If your boyfriend lives with you and you purposely did not list him as a member of your household, the insurance company could make an argument that you lied to them and deny coverage or worst make an insurance fraud complaint with the Attorney General of the State of New Jersey. So long as you tell the insurance company the truth about who resides where and who uses the car on a regular basis, you and your boyfriend (under the influence of alcohol or sober) would be covered to the limits of the insurance policy.
