Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey

My Idot Brother In-law

My brother in-law just got an oui in NJ, refused a breathalyzer and is now looking at a 14 mo license suspension. Because his father owns property in MA, he believes he can get a MA license to use while his NJ license is in suspension. Is this possible?

Re: My Idot Brother In-law

For a 100% certainty, Massachusetts and New Jersey exchnage information and have reciprocity for OUI related license suspension. In additon, even if your BIL were to get a Massachusetts licnese, he cannot drive in New Jersey.

Re: My Idot Brother In-law

Massachusetts will be notified of any DWI conviction in New Jersey, so likely he will not be able to get a Massachusetts license if he gets a DWI suspension in New Jersey. That being said, if his case has not been resolved yet, he would need a New Jersey attorney to represent him on the New Jersey charges. If he hasn't already been found guilty of these charges, please contact me to discuss this case. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

He should give me a call. There is no reason why the period of suspension can not be greatly reduced, if not avoided.

Call me if you like.
