Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey

No probation with DUI

Why is it that someone can have thier license revoked for eight month's for DUI without being put on probation? Person is still driving, had an accident after they lost license, Accident was never reported, and is using crack cocaine. This person is a danger to themself, and society. If the police don't anything about it, then who do you go too? Where is the punishment? I was a victim of someone drinking and driving back in 1981, I know what it's like to go through the windshield of a car. Do innocent people have to be hurt before Law steps in? Who will take action if your own police dept won't?

Re: No probation with DUI

It is a very dangerous world. We could kill people for dwi but then we would be like Saddam Hussein. Most people charged with dwi do not injury anyone, something like 98 percent. How about the women who put on their make up while driving or people who read the newspaper while driving or who eat while driving. How many accidents do they have. How about the people who are driving while angry or deranged or very tired.

If you know of someone who drives while drunk or drugged you can tell the policea and take responsibility for dealing with the problem. The someone who has to do sometning about this intoxicated driver is you.
